The ”C-Leg”, which is a microprocessor controlled knee, is a great example of one of the many technological advancements which has revolutionized today’s prostheses.
Producer and writer for Heroes of the Slopes, Marc Romero, has just been fitted and programmed with the C-leg from Otto Bock and will be providing his thoughts here on this computer leg after having always been just a mechanical leg wearer for many years.
Joe Johnson of Quorum Orthodics and Prosthetics is a top Colorado based prosthetist who has built and fitted great legs for Marc and many other "hyperactive" amputees. He was also a fellow one-leg US Disabled Ski Team member racing alongside Marc back in the day who definitely understands "going fast" and "never standing still", mantras which today manifest themselves in his prosthetic fitting career for other amputees.
